Alcyone was Jehovahs "crib"
by notjustyet ini was doing some reading up on the wtbts former belief that the annointed would go and be with jehovah and jesus on "alcyone" when they died.
(alcyone is a star system in the constellation taurus.
it is the brightest star in the pleiades open cluster, which is a young cluster, aged at less than 50 million years.

Alcyone is NOT an imaginary place like Xenu or Kolob. In the first place, it is not a planet, but a star. It has only been recently that we have been able to image planets cicling distant stars.
As has been said, Alcyone is one of the stars in the Pleiades star cluster, also known as the seven sisters or M45. It is among the nearest star clusters to Earth and is the cluster most obvious to the naked eye in the night sky, so it was seen by primitive "post-edenic" (yuk yuk yuk) man, and the star cluster found a place in myth and legend - the campfire stories which led to the formation of man's various religions and holy books, so it is not surprising that the Pleiades are mentioned three times in the OT at Job 9:9 and 38:31, as well as Amos 5:8, where they are identified as "kimah" (a cluster).
This may be the inspiration of the popular Apostate term for the Watchtower's NWT translation committee, "kimah fuck." (Started HERE and NOW.)

YOU are correct, notjustyet!
There has been some discussion of this "divine mystery" here in the past, and it is good to bring this up for the benefit of newer ones.

What would be the best decision if we took out all the religion out of the blood issue?
by ILoveTTATT ini am wondering this:.
what surgeries/procedures/situations have been shown to be life-or-death decisions without blood?.
i only know, currently, of trauma (car accident, gunshot wound, etc).... what would be treatable exclusively with "no blood fractions" and with "no procedures using my blood"?.

EX-cellent point, Narcissistic Supply! A femto-transfusion perhaps, but a transfusion none-the-less!
WHY oh WHY did Jehovah make them that way?!?

In 2008 I had open-heart surgery to repair a prolapsed mitral valve. I had prepared for the surgery by having a couple units of my own blood stored for an autologous transfusion, should any transfusion be neccessarry. NO blood at all was used for this surgery.
A few months after this I needed to have a meningioma removed from inside my skull. This was a sudden need with no time to prepare. Again, NO blood was needed during the surgery, which required peeling part of my scalp down to expose my skull, drilling a hole about 3/4 inch in diameter through my skull and cutting away the meningioma that was sitting on my brain like a frog on a log.
The primary surgical need of blood today is to offset hypovolemic shock, which is extreme blood loss as a result of an accident most of the time.
I'm not an expert on blood fractions, but my guess would be that they would be used most often to assist with the treatment of hereditary blood deficiencies or some kinds of poisons.

Farkel, apparently SBF feels that "judging a book by its cover" is a sound investigative technique.

VIII, I agree with you, and here's why:
(1)there aren't enough JWs and XJWs to create a profitable target audience.
(2) Generally speaking, JWS and XJWs are cheap and won't fork over a nickle for a book that doesn't promise ETERNAL LIFE as a reward for reading it.
I guess it could be said that the WTB&TS ruined part of the publications marketplace.
But I can't agree with you about non-unique experiences. Most JWs/XJWs are women and have never had the "priviledge" of serving as an MS, Elder or higher. Most JWs/XJWs have never "served" at Bethel, or as missionairies. Most JWs/XJWs have not been the victim of a pedophile. Most JWs/XJWs did not go to prison for refusing to cooperate with a military draft. There are numerous "little crowds" of JWs/xJWs who have had experiebces that are unique, and there is value in telling these stories, but the renumeration is seldom in terms of vast, un-dreamed-of wealth.

"...do it for PROFIT"
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
Yeah, I'm sure THAT is the way SO MANY XJWs have become billionaires!
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
I probably have about as much experience with publishing as anyone here. MAYBE the best one can hope for is to break even after maybe ten years!
My point is that the PROFIT MOTIVE is absent from THIS equation, my friend!
Now, I DID have a few thoughts about Jim Staelens as I read some of the promotional material... thoughts like WHY is 50 years experience as an Airline Pilot such a vaunted credential? Why is 50 years as a Watchtower Slave not grounds to say, "Man, how dopey ARE you?" Speaking for myself, I got out with less than 20 years in the belly of the Borg (and less than ten years after becoming a legal adult. Maybe Staelens should sit at MY knee... instead of the other way around.
I decided to do something UNIQUE. I bought a copy of the book so I can evaluate it on its merits instead of trying to justify my knee-jerk reaction.
